ORANJESTAD — Aruba Tourist Channel is marking World Tourism Day 2026 and its eighth anniversary with a special 40-page edition of The Advisor | The Complete Travel Guide, bringing together Aruba travel information, local tourism businesses and a broader vision for how artificial intelligence can support the visitor journey without removing the people who make tourism possible.
This year’s edition is built around the World Tourism Day 2026 theme, “Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism.” For Aruba Tourist Channel, that theme closely reflects a transformation already underway. What began eight years ago as a tourism media platform has evolved through travel guides and digital services into what the magazine describes as an intelligent layer connecting visitors with Aruba.
Through Aruba Intelligence and The Advisor AI, the objective is no longer simply to publish information about what visitors can do. The platform is being developed to understand what a traveler is trying to accomplish and connect that person with relevant accommodation, dining, tours, transportation, wellness and local services. The magazine emphasizes that the goal is not to give every visitor the same answer, but to make Aruba’s tourism information more useful and contextual.
The edition also carries messages from Aruba’s tourism leadership. Aruba Tourism Authority CEO Ronella Croes describes a tourism vision centered on creating value for Aruba, its people and its guests, while protecting what makes the island meaningful. She also congratulates Aruba Tourist Channel on its eighth anniversary and recognizes its contribution to connecting guests with Aruba’s experiences, culture and people.
Minister of Tourism Wendrick Cicilia’s contribution places similar emphasis on tourism creating opportunities for the community, protecting the environment, improving the quality of the visitor experience and recognizing the people working throughout the tourism industry as central to that experience.
Alongside the technology discussion, the magazine remains a practical Aruba travel guide. It takes readers through Noord, Eagle Beach, Palm Beach, Oranjestad and San Nicolas, as well as accommodation categories, neighborhoods, transportation and other essential elements of planning an Aruba vacation.
A major part of the special edition is The Advisor AI Partner Network. The concept moves beyond traditional advertising by connecting local businesses to specific visitor needs. The magazine presents partners across adventure, accommodation, dining, wellness, transportation, shopping and other tourism categories, with the principle that a business should become visible when its service is relevant to what the visitor is actually trying to do.
The visitor journey itself is divided into different moments. Before arrival, the magazine argues, travelers may already have made dozens of decisions. Accommodation should connect with transportation, arrival time should influence the first day, and the departure itinerary should recognize airport requirements. The Advisor AI, itinerary planning, hotel discovery, transfers, editorial content and partner recommendations are presented as parts of one connected pre-arrival experience.
During the stay, the vision becomes more dynamic. Plans change, travelers find unexpected free time and new questions appear. The magazine describes a future in which an itinerary behaves less like a fixed schedule and more like a travel companion—providing relevant options while leaving the final decision with the traveler.
But one message runs throughout the edition: AI should strengthen Aruba’s tourism frontline, not replace it.
Tour guides, taxi drivers, hotel employees, restaurant teams, watersports crews, chefs, spa professionals and local business owners remain the people through whom visitors actually experience Aruba. Technology can improve discovery and preparation, but the human interaction remains at the center of tourism.
That is ultimately the message of Aruba Tourist Channel’s eighth-anniversary edition.
Eight years of showing Aruba. The next journey has already begun.
