ORANJESTAD – Aruba Airport Authority (AAA) has issued a new operational update regarding the temporary closure of the airport runway following a security-related aircraft situation earlier today.
According to the airport authority, the runway will remain closed until 5:00 PM as a precautionary measure. Passenger processing is expected to begin at 4:00 PM, in preparation for a phased reopening of airport operations.
Passengers who are already inside the terminal are being asked to remain inside. Travelers who have not yet entered the terminal are requested to wait outside until passenger processing resumes.
AAA emphasized that these measures are part of standard safety and security procedures and reiterated that there is no indication of an immediate threat to public safety. The airport continues to work closely with all relevant authorities and partners to ensure a safe and orderly return to normal operations.
The Aruba Airport Authority thanked passengers and the public for their patience and cooperation, stressing that safety remains its highest priority. Further updates will be communicated through official channels as more information becomes available.
