Aruba is on the right track but we should stay alert and be prepared in case of a second wave.

Evelyn Wever-Croes, Minister President

It was 11 weeks ago when Aruba was confronted with the first 2 positive COVID-19 cases. In the 3 weeks that followed we reached a total of 71 positive cases. After this people started to recuperate and the total cases started to go down. Aruba did flatten the curve.

In the 4 weeks that followed 30 extra positive cases came forward which increase the number of cases to 101 by May 5th. On May 28th, Aruba had only 1 more active case which tested negative. This brought the totalamount of cases to 0. Aruba officially crushed the curve.

Aruba is on the right track but we should stay alert and be prepared in case of a second wave.

This for sure is great news and we owe this to all of the professionals who came up with a successful strategy and made strict decisions on time and without fear. Thanks to the Aruban community for being disciplined.
