AHATA asks for commitment at regulations and control on land and sea

ORANJESTAD, 24 March 2022 – It’s a great tragedy that the community of Aruba felt yesterday when a fatal accident occurred in the ocean at Palm Beach. Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association expresses profound condolences to the family that came to our island to enjoy themselves, but instead tragically lost their daughter. We thank and appreciate the first responders that put in immense effort to try to save the girl’s life.

AHATA is begging Aruba to implement an integrated plan to regulate and control maritime traffic at our favored beaches. Just as it was advocated for many years that the government implemented regulations and control tour vehicles on land (UTV/ATV), AHATA is begging for effective regulation and intensive control on our public beaches and oceans.

AHATA will continue to talk to and support local authorities to help reach effective management that will secure protection for individuals that are enjoying our beaches and oceans.
