PALM BEACH, ARUBA – February 2024 – The Aruba Marriott Complex congratulates Felisiano Hanley, Loss Prevention Supervisor, Joshua Pers, Jordano Yarzagaray, and Ellery Briesen, Loss Prevention Officers, with their special recognition from Mr. Bill Marriott for assisting to save the life of a guest – Mrs. Lampman – who was staying at Marriott’s Aruba Surf Club in November 2023.
This special recognition is identified as the Chairman’s award by Marriott International, which is designed to recognize associates who have partaken in saving the life of a guest and to give gratitude to the associates for their act of bravery as well as to promote safety and security within Marriott International.
Training, teamwork, and bravery were the characteristics which helped save the life of a guest who was not breathing or responding in her room. Felisiano reacted in immediate response upon receiving the dispatch call by grabbing the oxygen bag, while Jordano grabbed the automated external defibrillator (AED) kit. Both Ellery and Joshua were patrolling outside as they received the dispatch message. They both quickly made their way to the service elevator leading up to the room. Jordano, Joshua, and Ellery proceeded with CPR and administrating oxygen, stabilizing the guest as they waited for an ambulance to arrive.
Both the action and reaction from Felisiano, Jordano, Joshua, and Ellery were heroic acts and to be admired, which surely Mr. Bill Marriott has recognized through the beautiful form of appreciation by honoring Felisiano, Jordano, Joshua, and Ellery with this special recognition.
Complex General Manager, Raoul Lemmerling, alongside Marriott’s Aruba Surf Club General Manager, Joop Bangma, have personally awarded this special recognition to Aruba Marriott’s brave associates.
The management and staff of the Aruba Marriott Complex are very proud and grateful to their heroes and congratulate them on receiving this meaningful recognition.
