JOIA Aruba by Iberostar: A New Jewel Brings Local Charm and Sustainability to Eagle Beach

EAGLE BEACH, ARUBA – Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has officially opened the doors of JOIA Aruba by Iberostar, its first property on the island. Situated on the pristine Eagle Beach, the five-star resort is a blend of luxury, sustainability, and local culture, setting a new standard for hospitality in Aruba.

A Tribute to Aruba’s Essence
According to the General Manager, Arnaud Le Lanchon, the design and concept of JOIA Aruba by Iberostar are deeply rooted in the island’s unique characteristics. “We tried to put Aruba in the middle of all the conceptualization of the hotel,” Le Lanchon explained. The resort’s facade, inspired by the vibrant parrotfish—an emblematic species for coral reef conservation—reflects the colors and textures of Aruba’s landscapes. “We wanted to make it a tribute,” he added, emphasizing the hotel’s dedication to showcasing Aruba’s natural beauty.

Promoting Local Culture
The resort actively promotes Aruba’s heritage through its well-trained team, all of whom have earned the ACE certification. This ensures that staff can guide guests in exploring Aruba’s history, traditions, and activities. “We adapt to any kind of guest and can recommend tailored experiences,” the GM shared.

Sustainability at Its Core
In line with Iberostar’s commitment to responsible tourism, JOIA Aruba by Iberostar incorporates eco-friendly initiatives. Among its standout efforts is the newly inaugurated Shoco Sanctuary, established in partnership with Aruba Birdlife Conservation. This sanctuary is dedicated to protecting Aruba’s national symbol, the Shoco (Aruban Burrowing Owl). Additionally, the property includes an educational classroom designed to serve children, schools, and NGOs, offering a space to promote sustainability practices.

World-Class Amenities
The resort offers 240 luxurious suites, each with a private jacuzzi on the terrace, alongside an infinity pool and a spa. Guests can enjoy culinary delights at its buffet and specialty restaurants or tee off at the nearby Tierra del Sol Golf Course, Aruba’s only 18-hole championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones II. The Italian restaurant, Bucatini, even mirrors the island’s vibrant palette in its design.

A Positive Impact on the Community
Arnaud Le Lanchon emphasized JOIA Aruba by Iberostar’s commitment to the local community. Initiatives like the Aula di Lama, a dedicated space for NGOs and community engagement, further demonstrate the hotel’s investment in Aruba’s future. The resort collaborates with organizations to preserve biodiversity and educate children about sustainability.

JOIA Aruba by Iberostar’s opening marks a significant milestone for both Iberostar and Aruba’s tourism sector. By blending luxury with environmental stewardship and cultural celebration, the resort promises an unforgettable experience for all who visit.
