Temporary Closure Ahead of Alto Vista Chapel Announced by Santa Anna Parish

New Traffic Regulations Introduced to Protect Sacred Site

The Santa Anna Parish has announced that starting Thursday, March 13, 2025, the area in front of the Alto Vista Chapel will be temporarily closed for approximately four to five weeks. This closure marks the second phase of critical protection and restoration work aimed at preserving the sanctity and tranquility of the cherished chapel, a sacred site on private diocesan land. The project, divided into two phases, is part of a broader effort to safeguard the cultural heritage and spiritual significance of the location.

During this period, vendors operating in the area will be contacted directly by the parish to receive detailed information about the process. Despite the closure, an entryway on the side of the chapel will remain open, ensuring visitors can still access the building.

New Traffic Regulations

To enhance the environment, reduce noise, and improve the visitor experience, the parish is implementing new traffic rules effective immediately:

  • UTVs/ATVs and buses will no longer be permitted to pass through or park in front of the chapel. Designated parking areas have been assigned:
  • UTVs and ATVs will park at the rear of the chapel.
  • Buses will park a few meters before reaching the chapel.
  • Regular cars will still be allowed to park in front of or behind the chapel.

These measures are designed to restore respect and peace to the Alto Vista Chapel, ensuring it remains a place of prayer, spiritual reflection, and cultural preservation.

The Santa Anna Parish expressed gratitude to the local community, vendors, tour operators, and visitors for their understanding and cooperation during the upcoming weeks. “Together, we will continue to honor and protect our Alto Vista Chapel,” the parish stated.

For further updates, stakeholders are encouraged to stay in touch with the parish or relevant authorities.
