After 2 years of virtual conference, ATA welcomes the 32nd edition of CATA, in both virtual and face-to-face form with the theme “Reinventando el Turismo”

The Conferencia Annual de Turismo Aruba (CATA), takes place annually and offers a valuable opportunity for Latin American partners to relate and communicate with key partners within the industry on our island. The partners can also experience and enjoy the developments that take place in Aruba. The conference was organized by ATA in cooperation with Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association and Aruba Airport Authority N.V

During the pandemic, CATA took place virtually, and in this form maintained Aruba’s presence in various Latin American markets, while also demonstrating that our associates are important to us. Looking at the recovery that we are watching after two years who are only communicating virtually, a face-to-face conference was important this year. Along with this, there will also be an opportunity to participate virtually.

Aruba will receive 53 international participants for CATA who will arrive on our island on May 4 to participate in different days of the event.

In terms of the Latin American market, it is said that in 2021, the recovery period was 37% in comparison with 2019, which leads to a market share of 4.9% for Latin America. It has to be taken into account that not all markets were completely open, and they’re still many restrictions in place in those markets.

For the first three months of 2022, we see that Latin America has a recovery of 50% in comparison with 2019, reaching a market share of 6.1%. For the rest of 2022, the premise is to continue to recover in the Latin American market also. The goal is to reach a total of 100,000 visitors in 2022. In 2019 we received a total of 106,679 visitors in the region.
