Due to a generator/power backup failure, Aruba Airport had to stop the airport and terminal processes and evacuate passengers after the island-wide power outage.
The safety of our passengers, staff, and airport users is the airport’s highest priority. Without power, the airport cannot guarantee a safe airport operation and passenger handling and had to stop all processes.
An investigation and mitigation plan will start immediately to ensure that the airport’s generator/power backup system works well.
